The SCHIMAT is a flexible feed and handling solution based on camera and robot supported systems. This means that a broad range of parts can be fed without problem and without mechanical retooling.
The components are dispensed onto a camera belt by a step conveyor. Using an optical image processing system the selected feed parts and the position are detected. The system automatically selects the best parts to grip. A fast mode change can be implemented through software technology.
The SCHIMAT reaches various cycle times depending on robot type and travel paths. Approx. 3 seconds per part using a Scara robot and approx. 5 seconds per part using a 6-axis robot are possible.
